The Mansion at Focus Point

Group Home Program

"Welcome Home "

Our Mission...

The Mansion at Focus Point provides therapeutic treatment services in a home, community based setting in which adolescents learn personal responsibility and self-sufficiency. The Mansion program utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach to provide residents with a wide range of services based on each individual’s needs. The Mansion is dedicated to providing an environment in which a resident may develop the personal skills needed to sustain community reintegration and family reunification, transition to an alternate living program or move into live with the skills necessary to take responsibility for their actions or to access a continuing array of support services that enhance their potential for success.

To do this, we provide a family-like atmosphere coupled with a strong therapeutic milieu. The quality of life in our home is derived from community meetings, a behavior management program and a matrix of interpersonal relationships directed toward helping each resident to achieve his individual treatment goals. The family-like atmosphere is evident in the sharing of household chores, resolution of conflicts that affect every member of the household, and the development of caring relationships.

"Based on our experience with your group home, Caroline County boys [who are] deemed treatment resistant have benefited as never before from the family-like group care, the strong therapeutic milieu, the campus based school, and our shared commitment around family reunification."

~ Anlee D. Olson-Reid, Administrator of the Caroline County Human Services Council

"[At the MFP group homes] I've observed that childcare workers receive substantial initial training and support from the program leadership. I am particularly impressed by the emphasis the staff places on trying to identify what a child needs-- as a strategy to responding to inappropriate behavior--rather than the more punitive approaches used in many other programs."

~ Parviz Shandy, M.D., Treating Psychiatrist at MFP

"As my visit [to the group homes] progressed, I became increasingly impressed with the programs for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the team of highly qualified and committed individuals who work with the juveniles....It is obvious te professionals are providing a wonderful program and fulfilling an ever-present need to for care of emotionally disturbed adolescents in our community."

~ Pamela L. North, Maryland Fifth Judicial Circuit Judge
