Job Opening: Youth Counselor

The Mansion at Focus Point program has a staff of dedicated Youth Counselors, who serve as mentors and are expected to provide direct guidance and assistance to Mansion residents. Because this program operates a twenty- four-hour facility, counselors will be expected to work a flexible schedule (night, day & evening shifts).Also, as staff members who will be in constant contact with at-risk youth, successful applicants are required by law to have a criminal history records investigation. The minimum required qualifications for being a youth counselor are a college degree with an emphasis on human services or a high school degree with at least two years experience working with youths, parents, and families with special needs. Responsibilities include:

* Providing a Constructive role model for residents in the program, talking with and observing them at all times
* Maintaining the program facility in an orderly manner
* Conducting group and individual counseling as well as educational sessions
* Leading daily program activities
