MFP operates residential group care facilities for adolescents that provide a family-like atmosphere
coupled with strong therapeutic milieu components. The milieu is facilitated by community meetings,
therapeutic recreation and a behavior management program with incentives for the resident to achieve
goals in accordance with an individual treatment plan, which is developed by program staff, resident,
family and significant others. Residents receive clinical therapies and substance abuse services
designated to meet the needs of residents for guidance, learning and personal development.
Description:
Children for whom high intensity clinical treatment services are appropriate, with mental illness,
emotional disturbances, social development deficits that will respond to clinical treatment interventions,
behvioral milieu, medications, and case-managment services.
Children/Youth BEST Served:
Children with recent, severe suicidal/homicidal ideation, violent sex offenders, IQs of less than 65 (will
consider on a case by case basis only), pregnant teens, medically fragile youth.
